They are relatively hardy and suitable for beginner reef aquariums, often found in shallow tropical waters of the western Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea. These corals are photosynthetic, meaning they derive a significant portion of their energy from light, and they can also benefit from plankton feeding.
